Atlantis are your local experts in kitchen design and we love what we do. We were therefore very excited to be invited by L'Enclume, Michelin Star Restaurant, to design a kitchen for them.
As you know, L'Enclume, in the beautiful village of Cartmel, is attracting national and international attention offering magical food in a magical location.
Andrey met with Simon Rogan to discuss ideas for the redeveloped Aulis research and design centre. Simon and Andrey created a sleek new design, combining the latest technology where L'Enclumes creations will be brought to life.
And here's the really exciting part! You can reserve personal private dining for up to 6 people where a meal is composed before your very eyes, revealing the methods that are normally kept behind kitchen doors and all brought to you by Aulis director and 2008 Roux scholar Dan Cox.
Soon you will be able to see our uber contemporary furniture and Siemens appliances at work as "The Great British Menu" programme have recently filmed Simon and his teams expertise, and our kitchen plays a starring role.
The brief was quite unusual: to create a professional cooking environment but without the look of a commercial kitchen. All the cooking equipment had to be accommodated within the narrow shape of a 17th century stables building whilst allowing enough space to accommodate up to six people around the cooking area to watch the chef at work and sample his fantastic creations. The choice of equipment and materials was really important. Siemens appliances have been chosen for their versatility, quality build and sleek design. Silestone worktops with Microban anti-bacterial protection provide a practical worktop for the preparation area whilst a bespoke piece of Iroko acts as a built-in table wrapped around the island. Minimalistic light driftwood coloured units finished with acrylic splashback offer great storage space, crisp contemporary look combined with a practical easy-clean surfaces. The finished project certainly does not look like a stainless steel commercial kitchen but will definitely provide a fantastic creative environment for the chefs to use.
